This hotel is in a reaaly nice old building on one of the main streets of Arcos. Our room had 2 doors onto little balconies and had a basic ensuite with a shower over the bath. For the money we paid it was clean and comfortable and they had no issues with us having the dog with us.
Not an issue for ourselves but there was no lift so lots of stairs if your room was on the 2nd floor.

The staff could not do enough for us. They were just fantastic, helpful and there to give a hand with bags, directions, where to go, what to see. Great people
wasn't long enough

The hotel seemed to be as close to the old town center as you can get and still use a car. It's in a great place to experience "normal" Spanish life, with lots of local activity and few tourists. But it was also in a great location for accessing the historical sites and surrounding countryside destinations. The hotel has a charming character. The day receptionist, Emilio, was super nice, helpful, and a superb source of knowledge. He spoke great English and had several ideas and tips for sightseeing - we enjoyed them all. The hotel doesn't have on-site parking, but there is a garage about 200m away with a La Fonda customer discount price (1/3 of the day price). Totally walkable. There was no included breakfast, but there are several cafes less than 200m away for a good breakfast and some people watching. We would stay there again.

The pinnacle of our stay was Emilio. He was so helpful and told us much about the town and the local area. Brilliant English even though we are able to understand Spanish. nothing was too much trouble for him. Ione was also as helpful during our stay.
The hotel entrance from the street leaves much to be desired, especially the tattered flags and broken sign on the outside. The entrance is used by two different businesses and this clearly shows. Something needs to be done to give arriving guests a clear definition of the old coaching inn and its provenance. Misleading information regarding car parking however. Street noise.

Nice older hotel in town center with nice clean room with sitting area. Good bargin priced hotel. Owners/operators very friendly and helpful.
-
The hotel is old but well kept and clean, and quiet we slept well the young man that checked us in was very helpful and friendly he would get info from the computer for us and make dinner and travel sugestions the olde men at the desk were mostly not friendly the young man should get a raise $. All in all it was a great value and a wondeful stay for us.

Typical eurpoean place with stairs navigating around a 10x10 atruim with plants, misc. Decor and sunlight- no elevator. Cool old tile decor, wrought iron railings. Room small, but clean. Beds pretty comfortable. Proximty to local attractions was good. Easy to navgate area on foot. Rooms small but clean.. Great bartender in restaurant down stairs. Parking for free in public lot near hotel with a short climb back up to street. Help was scarce, but friendly and knowledgeable. Nothing to make you ooh or aah, , like gardens, architecture, art, views, (at least not from our room) but definately useable and not over priced.
Noise from street was pretty loud. We were there on Friday and Saturday nights... Room was hot and no batteries were in the a/c remote control (only way to turn it on) so had to keep windors open... Ear plugs helped.

nice old building in Andalusian style.
bit noisey because of traffic.

The receptionist was probably the most helpful and the nicest of all the staff of different hotels where we have stayed during our journeys. He gave some very good advice concerning the places to eat and the things to see. The hotel is located in a cosy old inn of traditional style, in the centre of a town that is even more picturesque than we expected. If we travelled in Andalusia once more, we would gladly stay in this hotel again.
-
Friendly service; interesting old building and atmosphere
-
Emilio one of the staff is very enthusiatic about the history of the hotel and what its past owners did for the town. Made a big difference to our experience. He speaks good english too. It also had an excellent little library to deposit unwanted books and pick up something new.
No lift.
-
Lovely characterful old inn and really helpful staff. Emilio gave good advice on where to go to see Arcos from a different angle.
-
Bedroom and bathroom were clean
!5 minute wait for someone to come to reception (at 3.45 pm)
-
This hotel was centrally located near the historic zone. We could walk to the viewpoint. Parking was in a nearby parking garage for 5€. Staff was helpful.
Staff spoke very limited English. Restaurant did not open until after 9 am and area restaurant selection was limited.
-
nice location; traditional 'andalucian' design; helpfull staff
smell in the room, however it was an old stylish building so could understand this
